Movie Plot – 6 Underground: Meet six agents who have buried their pasts so they can do some good in the world. It’s Michael Bay’s new “Netflix” movie and is everything you can expect from him.
Director: Michael Bay
Writers: Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Mélanie Laurent, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, Dave Franco
Opening Scene: car chase
Right from the start, the film opens up with a car chase. Yes, the one from the trailer. The green Alfa Romeo in Venice, Italy.
If you love the opening scene, you will probably like the movie. If not, I have bad news for you … You probably won’t.
Is “6 Underground” any good?
I did not like the movie, but that does not mean you are going to hate it. It depends on what you want from the film.
I’m a Ryan Reynolds fan, and I can guarantee you that he is just himself. So if you are watching “6 Underground” because of him. Chances are you will enjoy it.
But, if you are hoping for a decent plot, you will be disappointed. There is not much logical build-up. I found myself sometimes confused about what the filmmakers were trying to tell us. And that is where I got disappointed.
There were a lot of jokes, some of them were funny, but others weren’t. I have the impression that Michael Bay tries too much from time to time. He also tried some attempts to invoke emotions, but they failed miserably.
A Michael Bay movie
“6 Underground” screams “Michael Bay” all over the place. It’s loud, packed with tons of actions, and has lousy storytelling.
Michael Bay went all-in, it’s full of action scenes and mixed weirdly together. It is a big mess. At one moment, I thought to myself, “this feels like I’m watching a YouTube video.” Yes, I am talking about the parkour/freerunning scene.
I would not recommend “6 Underground” if you want a movie with at least a decent understandable plot.
