Assasin’s Creed has been a franchise loved by many gamers around the globe. When the news broke out that we were getting a movie, a lot of fans got excited!

I’m late for seeing this movie, as I have played Assasins’s Creed myself. But, I heard many bad reactions, and that is what kept me from watching it.

Now, it is available on Netflix! Therefore I gave it a shot.

Video games with movie adaptations have a track record for being terrible.

Assasin’s Creed is no exception!

I had hope when I heard Michael Fassbender was on this project. I thought to myself: “hmm if they have someone like him, this would probably be a good movie.” But a movie cannot be great if the script is junk.

For someone who has played the game, the plot of this film was confusing. It didn’t even make sense sometimes.

We all love the game the most for the events that happened in the past. Yes, I”m aware that there is also the present, but this formula worked better with the games because there is no runtime attached to it.

Now, we only get to see him go in the past three times. And they all felt like a short video game fragment. Instead, we get a lot of screentime in the present. The filmmakers should have done the opposite.

The million camera angles

I’m just gonna put a video down here. Spoilers ahead, but feel free to watch it.

Now, do me a favor and start counting every time they switch from the camera angle. And try not to laugh while doing it.

This method of filming gave me a headache. Well, not really, though … but still, this is awful to look at.

This was maybe useful 20 years ago, but now we’re way past that. Just give us full scenes without cutting to other angles. Give us a clear look, and you can have better scenes.

Conclusion

Assassin’s Creed was a movie with a good premise, but it failed miserably. So many directing mistakes that shouldn’t have happened.
