I’m going to start making quick movie reviews. There are too many films to review, and that can be overwhelming. I’m only one guy, so reviewing everything I see is hard to do. Unfortunately, this isn’t my main profession, so I can’t put all my time into it.
That’s why I decided to add some “Quick Movie Reviews,” in where I’ll review five movies per post. Obviously, all of them will be short. I will still make long reviews of new movies or other films I’m excited about. Also, all the movies of my fantasy movie watch list will receive a long review.
Does that mean these films are less important? No, but I don’t have the time to do a long review on them all. There is still a possibility that I will make a long review of one of the mentioned films in the future.
With that said, let’s start!
Dumb and dumber
Directors: Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly
Writers: Peter Farrelly, Bennett Yellin, Bobby Farrelly
Cast: Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Lauren Holly
Got to love Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in this one. The movie is maybe outdated, but it’s still hilarious. The jokes are so stupid that they work, and make me laugh out loud.
I understand if someone would hate this film. After all, you have to love Jim Carrey’s acting to enjoy this film.
Daddy’s Home 2
Director: Sean Anders
Writers: Sean Anders, John Morris
Cast: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow
Daddy’s Home 2 is a fun family movie. It’s an okay film to watch at home to have a good time.
The addition of Mel Gibson and John Lithgow is great, and they fit the movie’s feel really well. I would recommend seeing this film on Christmas as it fits the Christmas spirit.
Directors: Lisa Barros D’Sa, Glenn Leyburn
Writer: Owen McCafferty
Cast: Liam Neeson, David Wilmot, Lesley Manville
A beautiful, tragic love story of two middle-aged persons, where the wife has to deal with cancer.
I love how Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville portrayed this couple as they’re going through this difficult period in their life. The film is simple and captivating as it shows how love can be heartwarming and hurtful. On top of that, they’re just ordinary people dealing which makes it more understandable.
It’s a great small movie.
The Raid: Redemption
Director: Gareth Evans
Writer: Gareth Evans
Cast: Iko Uwais, Ananda George, Ray Sahetapy
One of the best action films and it’s made in Indonesia.
It’s packed with a lot of fight scenes, violence, guns, and etc. On top of that, it feels like the main character is always in danger. He sometimes even has to run from it to survive.
It’s definitely worth a shot!
The Jurassic Games
Director: Ryan Bellgardt
Writers: Ryan Bellgardt, Galen Christy
Cast: Ryan Merriman, Perrey Reeves, Adam Hampton
I watched this film at a friend’s place, but I’ve never heard about it before. It’s basically Hunger Games mixed with Jurassic Park, except they’re all convicts.
The movie is horrible. The CGI looks bad, the acting is a joke, the story wasn’t good. This was painful to watch and also laughable. They tried to include to much stuff that wasn’t important, like having a sort of terrorist group who wanted to cancel the show.
