Bill & Ted
The student’s Bill and Ted are interested in just one thing: rock music. Furthermore, they know very little, and so they are about to fail their final exams. To succeed, they have to get a ten for their history project. In other words, it looks like an impossible task for them.
This film has been on my to-watch list for a long time. Finally, I get to see Keanu Reeves when he was still a young boy together with Alex Winter. Now that they’ve released a new movie this year, it was the ideal moment to watch them all. So expect reviews from them soon. Even though I’m still late.
Suppose you are not into silly comedy with characters who are not too bright. Think about Dumb & Dumber, for example. Then Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is not for you. On the other hand, if you find such a movie a blast like me, then you’ll enjoy it.
The Excellent Adventure
The story is a bit weird, but also quite simple. Bill & Ted have to make a task, and for this, they travel back in time to different time periods. How do you probably wonder? Well, there is someone from the future who lends them a time machine so they can do their task.
They also have their typical catchphrase or rather “catchword”, namely “Excellent” where they make imaginary electric guitar sounds.
Now, back to their adventure. During their journey, they encounter a lot of historical figures like Napoleon, Joan of Arc, Genghis Khan, Abraham Lincoln, Sigmund Freud, Billy The Kid, Beethoven, and even Socrates. That’s many characters, but Bill & Ted’s Excellent adventure does a terrific job by combining them all in a movie. Of course, this is a comedy, so don’t expect serious characters. There are really some funny moments with these guys, especially Napoleon with the waterslides.
Everyone loves a movie with a great ending. This is certainly the case with Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It feels like all their adventure made sense in a world that doesn’t make sense at all. It sounds contradictory, but it’s not as complicated as it seems. The ending makes this film fulfilling to me.
All their actions paid off. And that’s something “Awesome” to see! In the third part of the films, you may scratch your head by some logic they use. Just keep this in mind: “don’t take this film too seriously.”
Also the historical figures can be educational to young viewers as they get acquainted with them. Well, hopefully, they won’t tell at school that they were all in a mall once. That will surely raise some eyebrows.
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is an “Excellent” movie! *Electric Sound Guitar.* Party on dudes!
