In the opening scene of Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, we see how young Elizabeth finds a boy at a shipwreck. Most likely, the ship was destroyed by a pirate ship named the Black Pearl. When Elizabeth wants to help the boy, she learns his name: William.
Now, the question is, who are these kid actors? Most of us know about their adult actors but not about the little ones. Well, their names are Lucinda Dryzek (Elizabeth) and Dylan Smith (William).
Lucinda Dryzek (Elizabeth)
Lucinda Dryzek was born on August 4, 1991, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. I was amazed that she was my age. She is an actress, also known for, City of Ember (2008) and Five Days (2007). She began acting when she was eight years old and has since starred in several film, television and theater productions. Furthermore, Dryzek played the character, Katy, in the BBC family sitcom Life of Riley. Of course, she is also known for her role as the young Elizabeth Swann in the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Otherwise, I wouldn’t even have made this post.
Her credits include three British television series, appearances in The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and several pantomimes, and roles in feature films and made-for-television movies. She was discovered by her agent when she starred in a production of “The Sound of Music” as the second youngest child, Marta. In addition, she has also acted in TV series Help! I’m a Teenage Outlaw as Lady Devereux/DeeDee. She had supporting roles on the television show Five Days and in the film City of Ember.
She’s still acting to this day! Well, her last movie at this moment was in 2019, but I’m expecting she will get back to it.
Dylan Smith (William)
Born on November 30, 1992, in Los Angeles, California, USA, (as Daniel Smith) the son of Danny and Lisa Smith, Dylan would become an actor at an early age. His first acting role was in 2002, in the film One Hour Photo. He would go on to play Young Will in the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. However, he was replaced by Orlando Bloom for the rest of the film.
Unfortunately, his acting career didn’t last long as his last small role was in 2006. In other words, he only acted for four years. However, he did act with the great Robin Williams in the movie “One Hour Photo.” It is a film about a mentally unstable photo developer who targets a middle-class family after his obsession with them becomes more pathological and disturbing than any of them can imagine.
Besides that, there are no real records about Dylan Smith.
