Spiderman Far from Home” is the first movie after “The Avengers – Endgame.” 5 years have passed since Thanos wiped half of the entire population of existence. This also had a significant effect on this movie. Some of the students are 5 years older, and some are still the same age as 5 years ago.

Tony Stark legacy

At the beginning of the movie, Peter Parker is still dealing with the loss of his mentor, “Tony Stark,” aka Iron Man. A lot of folks expect him to fill in his shoes. This is all overwhelming for such a young boy. Peter has to deal with these issues while he is still trying to be an average teenager. Combining both his superhero life and his daily life is complicated.

I admire that moviemakers touch many different aspects. Grieve, action, humor, and a good sense of story. Peter Parker feels like the spiderman of the comics. He is also still learning how to control his powers. I love it that they call his spider-sense “spider tinkling.” There is one scene in this movie with his new ability, and it kicked ass!

Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio

This Mysterio is different than the one of the comics. Their approach really worked for me. Some of the visuals were crazy and complex. It could give an opponent a pleasant headache.

I was surprised when they cast Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. I did not see him in that role, but he delivered. Well, I should not have been surprised by this because he is a fine actor.

The new Romance

MJ is the new love interest of Peter Parker. We have all known MJ from the Sam Raimy trilogy. Compared to the previous one, this is instead a “cold” hearted girl. Not meaning she is cruel, but rather that she gives cold remarques to people. I appreciate the different approach, but it also ruins their romance. I can’t feel the connection between the two. Amazing spiderman 2 with Andrew Garfield was maybe a flop, but it had good passion. His relationship with Gwen Stacy was something that worked well. I hope it will get better with the 3rd movie.
