Jumanji is more than just a board game. It releases al sorts of dangers that can only be stopped by finishing the game.

Alan, trapped for centuries

The plot starts out in the 1960s where Alan Parrish finds a supernatural board game that was buried.

Alan meets up with a girl named Sarah, who lives close to him.  They were both drawn into playing the game. After the powers of the game transport young Alan into the jungles of the board game.

Sarah gets scared and flees out of the house. No one ever believed her story, and they all suspected the kid got murdered by his parents.

Meanwhile, Alan stays trapped until someone plays the game again.

Meet the new players

In 1995, two siblings were drawn into the game after finding it in the old house of Alan, which was abandoned.

You may recognize one of the siblings. The girl named Judy is played by Kirsten Dunst, who is now a famous actress. The boy named Peter is played by Bradley Pierce.

When they play, Alan (Robin Williams) is released from the jungle. And together, they team up to finish the game. But they need all the players! Therefore, they must find Sarah and convince her to join them.

After finding her, they must hurry before the town gets destroyed by all the released animals of Jumanji.

One of the many iconic roles of Robin Williams

There are many roles Robin Williams have been known for. Jumanji is one of them.

He is perfect for the role of Alan Parrish. Well, he will always be perfect for all kinds of roles in family films.

His friendliness is so appealing, and that is why it works so well in this film. The chemistry between him and the kids are great. Even the little love story with Bonnie Hunt worked for me.

It was great to watch and share this adventure with him. May his soul rest in peace.

Jumanji+2

Jumanji is a fun, adventurous family film

I watched this film a hundred times as a kid. Still to this day, Jumanji is enjoyable.

It’s funny how I never noticed that Alan’s father and the hunter “Van Pelt” was played by the same actor, Jonathan Hyde. Just to be clear, I just saw it when I rewatched it a couple of days ago.

The special effects may seem outdated, but they were great back in 1995. The big lion was the most mesmerizing. It makes me wonder what happened to the big lion doll/puppet.

Jumanji is a great movie for the whole family. It’s a fun-filled adventure movie with a lot of fun performances.

I would recommend everyone to see it.
