Movie Plot – Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977):  In a galaxy far away, ruled by the Empire, in possession of a world-destroying battle station. Luke Skywalker cross path with two droids, which, later on, result in him leaving his planet, Tatooine. But he’s not alone, a Jedi Knight, Han Solo, a Wookie, and the two droids are joining him on his quest.

A New Hope (1977), the first Star Wars movie

In 1997, George Lucas released Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and it became a huge hit. It didn’t become an instant hit, but it revolutionized cinema.

I wasn’t born in 1977, so I’ve never seen it on its release date. That must have been mindblowing back then. I’m not even sure what my first Star Wars film was, it’s either this one or Episode 1: Phantom Menace.

Star Wars succeeded in building a new movie universe with multiple worlds. Each having their own habitat while keeping that Star Wars feel to it.

John William’s score

Almost everything about Star Wars is iconic.

John Williams’s musical score is one of the best movie scores of all time. It still gives me chills listening to it. I don’t know any other score to be more iconic as the ones in Star Wars.

Star Wars wouldn’t be the same without John William’s score. It’s a perfect mix, and it was meant to be.

Sometimes when I want to feel great, I turn on the Star Wars soundtrack.

Luke Skywalker is the New Hope

Mark Hamill plays Luke Skywalker, a soon to be hero. Harrison Ford must be my favorite character, playing a charismatic smuggler with a bad boy attitude while still having a charming personality. Carrie Fisher is Princess Leia,  a strong female character. Obi-Wan Kenobi is played by Sir Alec Guinness, a wise, mysterious man.

All the actors fit seamlessly in their roles in this new universe.

And let’s not forget the most iconic villain ever! Darth Vader is strong with the dark side and is one scary individual. You do not want to offend him as he can strangle you by using the force!

The special effects were genuinely fantastic for their time. I’m still amazed by how advanced they were. Even after forty years, this film still looks absolutely amazing.

George Lucas is a genius for being able to come up with a great story while creating a big universe.

Conclusion

Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) is a fantasy epic that will always be remembered as one of cinema’s greatest feats.
